Memories, 2019.
This work was created as an a multi-layered experience. I had deconstructed an antique chair to make a sculpture, which represented it's return to nature. Covered in moss and mushrooms, I photographed it outdoors. I am constantly thinking of memory and how we remember things. Isn't always that some object will catch your eye and make you think of a time and place long past. A physical representation of your own memory. Does the chair remember being a tree? Would the forest remember the wood and reclaim it? This is what I asked myself and this is what I answered.
